Foundry 1701 was born from a shared belief that a candle should do more than just smell good—it should be a catalyst for a cleaner home and a thriving city. Aerthura and I (Taylor) built this brand from the ground up, blending Detroit’s industrial grit with the raw, healing power of nature.

Together, we have designed Foundry 1701 to be a bridge between the home and the habitat. By sourcing raw, local beeswax that gives back to Detroit’s urban farms and green spaces, we are proving that luxury and sustainability don't just coexist—they belong together.

Our commitment to impact goes beyond the hive. We believe that every flame should ignite progress, which is why a portion of our profits from each candle goes directly to non-profit organizations whose missions we deeply believe in.

Our mission is rooted in the idea that a healthy city starts with a healthy ecosystem. Each candle supports 32 local bee hives and provides a direct economic incentive for sustainable beekeepers to maintain and expand their colonies within the city limits.

These bees are the silent engines of Detroit’s 2,300 urban farms and community gardens, providing the essential pollination needed for local fruits and vegetables to thrive.
